Big Pussy From The Sopranos Has Died

On August 1, veteran character actor Vincent Pastore passed away at his residence in the Bronx, New York, at the age of 80. Initial reports suggest he died peacefully in his sleep from natural causes.

Boasting a prolific career with close to 200 screen credits, Pastore carved out a legendary niche playing quintessential mobsters. He permanently cemented his place in television history as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in the landmark HBO series The Sopranos—a role he also reprised in the video game adaptation The Sopranos: Road to Respect. Beyond television, his memorable cinematic footprint includes unforgettable performances in acclaimed films such as Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way, and Mafia!, among numerous others.
