Rockstar Games Redesigns Its In-Game Overlay
Rockstar Games Launcher has received an update that redesigns its in-game menu overlay on PC. The overlay now fills the screen, replacing a small rectangular window at the top center.
The main tabs remain largely unchanged. The update also improves navigation and text chat, adds Discord integration with access to Discord friends, and introduces Streamer Mode, which hides the friends list, private messages, and other sensitive information.
The overlay is supported in the following games:
- GTA 5 / GTA Online
- GTA 4
- GTA: Trilogy — Definitive Edition
- RDR 2 / Red Dead Online
- RDR 1
- Max Payne 3
- L.A. Noire
- L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files
- nopixel V
The improved text chat seems unlikely to make its way into Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced itself. Players have also reported that some characters used in Eastern European languages, including Polish and Czech, do not display correctly.
So, new RGL overlay won’t allow you using non-latin characters, including Polish one like ęóąśłżźćń. I can’t say “cześć” (hi) to friends, lmao.

This is the first version of the redesigned overlay. Rockstar Games’ ecosystem was formerly known as Social Club.
