Megabonk Online Surpasses 100,000 Players
Megabonk climbed into the top 20 most-played games and drew over 100,000 players eager to battle endless waves of foes and rapidly grow exceedingly powerful.
Peak concurrent players reached 117,336. The project launched on September 19, 2025 under the Vedinad label — essentially a pseudonym formed by reversing the solo developer’s alias, Danidev. The creator spent roughly a year on the title, noting in a February 2025 YouTube video that he had already been working on Megabonk “for four months” at that point.
The developer cited Vampire Survivor — a 2D game with similar mechanics — as a primary influence. He set out to build a 3D interpretation with more fluid motion. The end result is a hybrid that blends elements of Vampire Survivor, Risk of Rain, DmD, Halls of Torment and other roguelike projects the author admires.
