Marvel’s Wolverine Won’t Repeat GTA VI’s Fate: Insomniac Confirms Disc Version
Following Rockstar’s decision to ship GTA VI without a game disc, Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will include a physical disc in the box.
Rockstar recently announced that physical copies of GTA VI will contain only a digital download code. This approach drew mixed reactions, with some retailers refusing to stock the game. The move sparked concerns that other publishers might abandon physical discs entirely.
Insomniac Games addressed these worries regarding Marvel’s Wolverine. When asked about their release plans, the studio stated the physical version will include a disc.
Rockstar likely cut physical media to lower manufacturing costs and maintain the $80 price point for GTA VI. Another factor could involve preventing pre-release leaks, which impacted games like Forza Horizon 6 and Subnautica 2 earlier this year.
