Marvel Faces Challenges Casting X-Men Ahead of Potential D23 Presentation
One of the expected team members may have left the project just days before its announcement.
Insider Daniel Richtman reported that Marvel Studios is facing difficulties with the casting process for the X-Men reboot. Due to prolonged negotiations, the studio might not manage to introduce the entire team at D23:
“Marvel has run into some problems with casting for the X-Men, so I am not sure that the lineup will be announced at D23. It all depends on whether they manage to finalize contracts with everyone.”
One of these issues may be the reported departure of Charles Melton. Shortly before this, Richtman stated that the actor turned down the role of Hank McCoy, also known as Beast. The source did not disclose the reason, even though Melton recently reacted with enthusiasm to the possibility of joining the X-Men:
“Definitely. Yeah, definitely interested. That would be cool. That’s a dream. A real dream.”

Marvel has not officially confirmed negotiations with Melton and has not promised to present the X-Men cast at D23. However, rumors regarding a potential team announcement have been spreading actively in recent weeks.
