Man Who Charged at Ariana Grande on ‘Wicked’ Red Carpet Ejected from Lady Gaga Concert in Australia

Ariana Grande’s Red-Carpet Attacker Ejected From Lady Gaga Show in Brisbane

Weeks after serving a brief jail term linked to a red-carpet incident involving Ariana Grande in Singapore, 26-year-old Johnson Wen was removed from a Lady Gaga concert in Brisbane.

Short videos shared on X and Instagram show Wen speaking with venue security before being escorted from Suncorp Stadium; the performance had not yet begun when staff led him out. Fans in the clips can be heard shouting, “Get him out of here!” and, “That’s the guy that tackled Ariana!”

Wen later posted to his Instagram Story, writing, “Got kicked out of Lady Gaga concert! The show doesn’t start till 8 p.m.! The early fans were booing me.”

He has built a reputation as a serial stage-crasher, having previously rushed stages during performances by acts such as The Chainsmokers and The Weeknd. This past summer he was also arrested after attempting to run onstage during a Katy Perry Lifetimes Tour date.

In November, Wen drew international attention after scaling a barricade at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good and charging at Ariana Grande. Video from the incident shows him make contact with the singer-actress by wrapping an arm around her shoulder and neck before being pinned and removed by security; actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to help separate him from Grande. Grande and Gaga are close friends and previously collaborated on the Hot 100 chart-topper “Rain on Me.”

Following the Singapore incident, Wen served a nine-day jail sentence and was subsequently banned from returning to the city-state.
