Not long ago, the NIGHT WOLVES team announced they were pulling the plug on their Mafia II: Final Cut remake. Fortunately, another ambitious community project, Mafia II Extended Edition, is picking up the mantle.
This comprehensive overhaul features a suite of technical fixes, restored beta textures, and modernized enhancements, such as a revamped user interface and a fully operational taxi system.
The developers recently provided a sneak peek at three winter-themed chapters from the upcoming mod:
Fans can expect a public demo of Mafia II Extended Edition to launch on January 29th.
[…] we will be showcasing our progress on four specific chapters from the original campaign: Home Sweet Home, Enemy of the State, Murphy’s Law, and The Buzzsaw. These levels will be expanded with various restored scenes and missions. Players can look forward to new cinematics, additional locations, fresh characters, and unique mechanics, all complemented by the original voice cast from the Mafia II dub. The demo will also introduce several gameplay improvements, including trunk interaction, weapon licenses, a functional subway system, and melee combat.
