LVCRFT’s Halloween Album Features Guest Appearances by Horror Movie Icons

LVCRFT released a music video for the single “My Boo” to celebrate their new album, Skeleton Sam’s Deadtime Stories, which comes out Thursday (Oct. 1). Scream star Jasmin Savoy Brown leads the track with vocals reminiscent of Dreamgirls and Little Shop of Horrors and teams up with horror director Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls, It’s a Wonderful Knife) for the visual.

MacIntyre shares that the video uses a grime versus glam aesthetic set in a dirty, postapocalyptic world similar to George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Makeup effects artist Megan Dupuy designed the macabre zombies, drawing inspiration from Romero films and Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead creations to contrast with the polished, throwback jazzy glamour of Brown’s performance.

MacIntyre continues that his goal was for her to start as a grounded, sultry lounge singer and grow maniacal as the story escalates, noting that Brown is talented and game to try anything.
