Lords of the Fallen 2 Debuts With Gruesome Gameplay Trailer

Polish developer CI Games recently pulled back the curtain on the first gameplay footage for Lords of the Fallen 2 during The Game Awards. The visceral new trailer highlights a trio of formidable bosses: the Heartroot Warden, a skeletal juggernaut encased in iron and wielding a massive chainsword; Koydreth, a celestial, teleporting knight; and Lingao the Soaring Storm, a colossal dragon that commands the elements.

“We are thrilled to provide this initial look at Lords of the Fallen 2 gameplay,” said game director James Lowe. “Built upon our ‘players-first’ philosophy, we are excited for the community to witness the evolution of our combat system, which is now faster and more brutal. Players can also expect a significant increase in enemy diversity and even more cinematic boss confrontations.”

Earlier this year, CI Games sparked discussion regarding its “player-first” approach. Global marketing director Ryan Hill previously suggested that the studio intends to keep social and political commentary out of its titles, claiming such themes are often unwelcome by the core audience. The studio also faced scrutiny following remarks from CEO Marek Tyminski regarding the decision to label character body types as “Male/Female” rather than the more contemporary “Type A/B” designations.

“We remain dedicated to creating games that prioritize the user experience,” Hill remarked during a previous investor call. “While some titles have recently opted to integrate social or political agendas, it is our view that many players prefer a focus on pure gameplay.”

The 2023 reboot of the franchise launched to a generally positive reception, currently holding a 75 aggregate score on Metacritic. While the sequel does not yet have a specific launch window, Lords of the Fallen 2 is officially scheduled to arrive in 2026.
