Lizard Spotted in GTA VI Trailer — Fans Believe It’s a Reference to Tommy Vercetti from GTA: Vice City
Rockstar Games continues to roll out promotional materials for Grand Theft Auto VI.
The studio recently released a new teaser. Because the clip is short, fans are re-examining older trailers to find missed details.
TheGameVerse pointed out a potential reference to a previous game in the second trailer. During a store robbery scene, Jason strikes a person, causing the victim to shift position. A lizard appears in the background of this frame.
Close inspection of the lizard reveals a hawaiian-style pattern. The design resembles the shirt worn by Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Rockstar Games premiered this second trailer in early May 2025.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for consoles. The studio has not announced a release date for the PC version.
Pre-orders open on June 25. While price rumors circulate online, the figures currently appearing in leaks look like placeholders.
