Lara Croft has battled prehistoric beasts, challenged deities, and even endured the antics of her long-suffering butler. Now, the iconic adventurer is embarking on a new mission: joining the ranks of G.I. Joe. To honor the legendary explorer’s 30th anniversary, Hasbro is immortalizing her with a premium action figure.

Though the partnership between Tomb Raider and G.I. Joe was teased back in May, official details remained under wraps until this week. During a special broadcast hosted by the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel alongside pop culture expert Dan Larson, the community finally got their first glimpse of the six-inch Lara Croft figure. The collectible comes well-equipped, featuring her signature dual pistols from her classic outings, alongside the bow and ice-axe loadout that defined her look in the Survivor Trilogy.

Further specifics regarding the figure’s pricing and retail availability are expected to be unveiled on Thursday, July 23, during a dedicated Hasbro press event at San Diego Comic-Con.

Notably, this figure showcases the new “unified” aesthetic for Lara Croft, a design standard championed by Crystal Dynamics and Embracer Group over the last few years. While this look debuted in Call of Duty, it has since become the visual template for the character across all new media. The “unification” initiative is more than a simple costume change; it represents a strategic effort to bridge the narrative gap between the original 1996 title and the more recent Survivor Trilogy (Tomb Raider, Rise, and Shadow). Moving forward, the goal is to stitch these disparate eras into one cohesive timeline, positioning the Survivor games as a developmental prequel to the classic adventures.

While the G.I. Joe crossover is a highlight of the 30th-anniversary celebrations, the primary event arrives in 2027. Following a deliberate delay to ensure quality, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis—a ground-up remake of the original classic—is slated for a 2027 release. This will mark Crystal Dynamics’ return to the series since 2018. It serves to solidify the canonical connection between modern and legacy Lara, clearing the path for Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a brand-new installment set to take place after the events of 2008’s Underworld, effectively establishing the new contemporary benchmark for the franchise.
