Konami Proudly Announces Over 5 Million Players for Silent Hill 2 Remake
The publisher clarified in the fine print that these engagement figures include users who accessed the psychological horror title through subscription tiers such as PlayStation Plus.
Konami has announced that, as of late January 2026, the Silent Hill 2 remake has successfully captivated a global audience of over 5 million players.
This milestone encompasses more than just traditional retail and digital purchases; it also accounts for the influx of users who gained access via subscription models. Specifically, the project was added to the PlayStation Plus Extra library on October 15, 2025. A mere two days following that expansion, the company confirmed that the remake had surpassed 2.5 million units sold, while cumulative sales for the entire Silent Hill franchise had breached the 10-million-copy threshold.
Later, in November 2025, the game made its debut on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. This launch was bolstered by a significant 50% discount, which likely catalyzed sales momentum, even though the vast majority of the five million players appear to be concentrated within the Sony ecosystem.
