Kingdom Hearts 4 will run on Unreal Engine 5, so it will look better than the trailer

Revealed this Sunday April 10 around noon while everyone was basking in the sun (and preparing psychologically for the first round of the Presidential elections), Kingdom Hearts IV crystallizes a lot of things for fans of the saga. Not only did they not expect such a quick announcement, given that Kingdom Hearts 3 was released in 2019 after a 10-year wait, but no one had seen such a realistic turn in the graphics coming. If some are delighted, others, on the other hand, are disappointed with a less cartoonish approach and ask themselves a lot of questions. That’s good, the Famitsu magazine had the opportunity to know a little more about the game, thanks in particular to a gameplay video they saw running and provided by Square Enix. It was a sequence taking up one of the key moments of the trailer where Sora fights against a gigantic Heartless in full Tokyo Quadratum. Square Enix explained that this sequence is currently running on Unreal Engine 4, but that an update will be made very quickly by the developers who will switch to the latest version of Epic Games’ engine, the famous Unreal Engine 5. We will therefore have to expect updated and therefore more impressive graphics on release, at least that is what Square Enix guarantees us. We cross fingers.
