The main character of Akatori faces a journey through vibrant locations.

In early August, Kazakhstani studio Contrast Games, Games Harbor, and Esprit Games announced the Steam PC release of Akatori. The new title is positioned as an action-platformer with Metroidvania elements.

At the center of the story is a young woman named Mako, who grew up in the Fire Bird Temple. Warrior monks raised and trained her. She sets out on a journey across worlds to save them from amber storms that destroy and distort all living things in their path.

She is accompanied by a red bird sealed inside her staff, the weapon Mako uses to fight monsters and bosses. The main character’s path will lead through five locations, each featuring unique visuals, history, and challenges. During the journey, players will be able to unlock new abilities for the staff that will help in exploring the world.

The Steam page for Akatori is available at the following link. Early reviews for the game are “mostly positive,” with a 79% rating.

The console release of Akatori on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox is expected a bit later on August 12.
