Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have gone Instagram-official. On December 6, 2025, the pop star posted a sequence of photos and short videos documenting her visit to Japan — and the carousel includes multiple appearances by the former Canadian prime minister.

Perry captioned the gallery, “tokyo times on tour and more,” which links to the original Instagram post. In the snapshots, Perry and Trudeau smile cheek-to-cheek outdoors, share sushi in a black-and-white clip, and admire what appears to be a glittering art installation.

The posts coincide with Perry’s Lifetimes Tour dates in Japan. During the trip she accompanied Trudeau to a formal lunch where he met with former Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.

Kishida later shared a photo of the two couples standing in front of an ornately decorated room and a festive Christmas tree, writing on X that “Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch.” He added that he was pleased their friendship endures beyond their time as serving leaders. Trudeau replied in the comments, thanking Kishida for the meeting and the ongoing partnership between their countries.

Speculation about a relationship between Perry and Trudeau first intensified earlier this year after they were seen together in Paris in late October — one of their earliest widely reported public outings.
