Australian actor Joel Edgerton (known for “Dark Matter”) will headline a new crime drama, Trigger Point (translated as “Pain Zone”), currently in development at Netflix in collaboration with A24.
The story centers on a confrontation between former special-operations soldiers — who have established a criminal network operating under the guise of a private military company — and an FBI agent set on dismantling them. Edgerton is attached to play Red, one of the gang’s members.
The series is planned as an eight-episode run. Jeremy Saulnier (“Rebel Ridge”) is set to direct, while Harrison Kuiri (“Heads of State”) will serve as showrunner. No release date has been announced.
Edgerton appears this week in Netflix’s indie drama “Train Dreams” (pictured).
