Jessica Chastain Stars in New Horror Movie Other Mommy
Move aside, Michael Myers. Take a hike, Jason Voorhees. Get a real job, Art the Clown. Horror has a new name in 2026, and it is Mommy.
Other Mommy is the title of Universal’s upcoming horror movie. It stars Jessica Chastain as both the seemingly normal, loving mother Ursula and her evil doppelgänger who hides under tables and contorts her limbs.
The bone-chilling trailer for Other Mommy has built anticipation for the new horror movie from director Rob Savage, who previously directed The Boogeyman and Host. Ahead of the film release on Oct. 9, Universal shared an exclusive new look at the movie with Polygon as part of the 2026 Fall Preview.
The image shows Jessica Chastain looking angry, confident, and frazzled. It remains unclear if the image depicts Ursula or Other Mommy. Either way, the film shapes up to be a major horror release for the spooky season.
