Jennifer Lopez Says She Hasn’t Been Asked to Appear at Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

When Jennifer Lopez and Shakira invited Bad Bunny to join them during the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, it sparked one of the night’s most talked-about moments — and now fans wonder whether Lopez will return the favor when Benito headlines the 2026 halftime performance.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Lopez was asked if she’d been contacted to perform alongside Bad Bunny next year. “There’s no talk,” she said, clarifying that nothing has been arranged.
“I have not gotten any calls!” she added, urging audiences not to expect a surprise appearance.
Still, Lopez made it clear she’d be open to collaborating if asked: “Of course — if he wanted me to do something, I would definitely do it.”
The interview came shortly after the NFL and Roc Nation announced Bad Bunny as the headliner for the 2026 halftime show — a decision that drew criticism from some conservative figures, including former President Donald Trump, who called the selection “absolutely ridiculous.” In response, Turning Point USA announced plans for an alternative halftime program that it said would feature music “in English.”
Many others pushed back against that framing, noting that choosing a Spanish-language artist is not inherently political and could help the NFL broaden its global appeal. Artist Shaboozey told Billboard that Bad Bunny is “a global superstar, global icon — and an American citizen,” calling him an ideal pick for the league’s international ambitions.
Lopez herself defended the choice during a recent Today show appearance, praising Bad Bunny’s talent and reach. “I think he’s about to blow everybody’s minds,” she said. “He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top.”
