Jelly Roll and Carín León to Kick Off 2026 FIFA World Cup Soundtrack With New Single

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is poised to deliver a monumental sonic experience, merging the worlds of international soccer and chart-topping music. Billboard has confirmed that a high-profile collaboration between Tennessee sensation Jelly Roll and Mexican powerhouse Carín León will serve as the lead single for the tournament’s forthcoming official album.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino initially teased the ambitious musical project on Monday (March 16) via Instagram. He emphasized that the initiative brings together “established icons and emerging talents” from various cultural backgrounds to forge a global rhythm dedicated to the “beautiful game.”

The debut track, titled “Lighter,” is a country-infused rock anthem scheduled for release on March 20. The song was helmed by the acclaimed Canadian producer Cirkut, who recently secured the 2026 Grammy for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical). In a promotional video, Infantino lauded the track as a “groundbreaking” work that defines the spirit of the upcoming tournament.

According to an official press release, “Lighter” serves as a bridge between the three host nations. By blending distinct genres, the song aims to mirror the vibrant cultural synergy of North America and the universal enthusiasm shared by football fans globally.

This iteration of the FIFA World Cup represents a historic milestone, as it will be the first hosted jointly by three nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The competition is slated to run from June 11 through July 19, spanning 16 cities across the continent. The championship finale will take place at the New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford.
