James Cameron Prepares the Biggest Changes in Avatar History

Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, says Avatar 4 will bring the most radical changes the franchise has ever seen.

The latest installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, arrived in December 2025. It earned over $1.48 billion. While that figure is significant, the two preceding films each cleared $2 billion. This gap raised questions about the future of the series.

James Cameron still intends to produce five films in total. Worthington has already read the completed scripts for the fourth and fifth entries.

The actor told CBS Mornings that the script for the fourth movie stands out as his favorite.
