Jack Johnson has unveiled plans for a six-date tour across Australia and New Zealand this coming November. For the first time, he will be joined by esteemed singer-songwriters Ben Harper and John Butler, both of whom will deliver exclusive solo, acoustic sets.
The SURFILMUSIC 2026 Australia & New Zealand Tour kicks off at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Nov. 7. The journey continues to Perth’s Kings Park & Botanic Gardens (Nov. 10), Sydney’s The Domain (Nov. 14), and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Nov. 17), before heading across the Tasman for performances at Auckland’s Spark Arena (Nov. 20) and a finale at Waipara Winehouse in North Canterbury, New Zealand, on Nov. 22.
Presale opportunities for fans begin May 7, with a Mastercard holder presale following from May 8-12. General ticket sales commence Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m. local time.
This upcoming trek marks Johnson’s first visit to the region since 2022 and serves to promote the impending SURFILMUSIC documentary soundtrack, a collaborative project featuring Johnson and Hermanos Gutiérrez, arriving May 15.
The documentary, which debuted to acclaim at SXSW this past March, chronicles Johnson’s multifaceted evolution from surfer to filmmaker and musician, reflecting on his formative years on the North Shore of Oahu and the creation of his seminal surf films, Thicker Than Water (1999) and The September Sessions (2000).
Backed by longtime collaborators Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski, and Zach Gill, Johnson will blend fresh arrangements from the new soundtrack with beloved classics such as “Better Together,” “Flake,” and “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.”
The inclusion of Harper and Butler adds significant weight to the lineup. Three-time Grammy winner Ben Harper, known for hits like “Steal My Kisses” and “Diamonds on the Inside,” brings a career spanning 18 studio albums and over 16 million records sold. John Butler, a pillar of the Australian independent music scene for over a quarter-century, will showcase his virtuosic style, highlighted by fan favorites like “Zebra” and the instrumental masterpiece “Ocean.”
Indigenous singer-songwriter Emily Wurramara is set to join the bill specifically for the Sydney concert. The tour is presented by Live Nation, with the Australian leg produced in partnership with Double J.
Beyond his musical accolades—which include more than 25 million albums sold—Johnson remains deeply committed to philanthropy. Since 2001, he and his wife, Kim, have leveraged their touring and recorded music to generate over $40 million for environmental and arts education initiatives through the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation and the Johnson ʻOhana Foundation.
