Introducing REDSEC Competitive Battlefield: Elite and Open Series

Introducing REDSEC Competitive Battlefield: Elite and Open Series

The most memorable Battlefield moments come when squads are pushed beyond their comfort zones—when victory requires smart tactics, flawless teamwork, and precise shooting. Our goal is to foster an ecosystem that celebrates intense, squad-focused gameplay and gives players the tools to test the limits of coordinated play. When we highlight top performers in the franchise, we want the action to feel every bit as exhilarating for players as it is for fans watching at home. Today we’re taking the first step toward a stronger competitive Battlefield, together with the community:

Introducing the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series, launching Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Built to grow competitive play while offering a clear path for squads to rise, the Elite Series will be the premier Battlefield competition, showcasing REDSEC’s top-tier teams on a global stage across Battle Royale and Gauntlet.

Competitive play should be accessible—not exclusive. Alongside the Elite Series, we’re launching the Open Series as the official REDSEC community competition, beginning Friday, December 12, 2025.

The Open Series gives squads of any skill level a runway to improve and compete; with practice and persistence, Open teams can earn promotion into the Elite Series and take on the best squads in the world.

All events are cross-platform and cross-input—controller or mouse & keyboard, PC or console—so every player can prove themselves in both REDSEC’s Elite and Open competitions.

Both the Elite and Open Series represent our first official competitive offerings for Battlefield. We’ll work closely with the community to expand and refine future tournaments across core Multiplayer modes.

Ahead of Match Day one on December 10 and the Open Series kickoff on December 12, here’s what to expect from Battlefield REDSEC’s Elite and Open Series. Additional details will follow as we get closer to the December competition dates.

REDSEC Elite Series — Format and Viewing

The Elite Series runs weekly across three regions—The Americas, Europe / Middle East / Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC)—and features over $1 million USD in prize money during Season 1, which runs from December 10, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

For this inaugural season, we’ve invited 50 team captains per region to assemble their ideal four-player squads. Those 150 captains will form 600 competitors in total, representing the highest caliber of Battlefield talent worldwide.

Each region’s 50 squads will compete under a dedicated competitive structure: six REDSEC Battle Royale matches followed by a final head-to-head Gauntlet showdown for the top eight squads. This cycle repeats across three Qualifying Match Days, with squads earning Elite Series Points based on performance.

The competitive Gauntlet will be tuned for tournament play—specific map and mode pairings and an extended round timer—while we continue to refine the mode using community feedback.

After three Qualifying Match Days, the 25 squads with the most Elite Series Points in each region will advance to their regional Season Finals.

All Elite Series matches will be conducted online. Competitors will stream Qualifying Match Days themselves, and Battlefield Studios will produce the Season Finals broadcasts for each region.

To protect competitive integrity, all 150 team captains were vetted in advance. Matches will run on high-performance official servers hosted in strategically located data centers and protected by our Javelin anti-cheat system.

Season 1’s prize pool exceeds $1 million USD across the three regional finals, with additional payouts awarded to the top four teams in each match during Qualifying Match Days and the Season Finals.

Prize breakdown by region:

  • Americas — $50,000 USD per Qualifying Match Day, and $500,000 USD allocated across the Finals Gauntlet.
  • EMEA — $20,000 USD per Qualifying Match Day, and $285,000 USD for the Finals Gauntlet.
  • APAC — $20,000 USD per Qualifying Match Day, and $285,000 USD for the Finals Gauntlet.

Twitch Drops will be active for each Qualifying Match Day and the Season Finals to celebrate the launch of our competitive program.

The Open Series gives every eligible squad across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC a direct route into competitive play—and the chance to qualify for the Elite Series.

To participate, create your squad and register through our competition partner at repeat.gg. Install the Repeat app and navigate to the official Open Series section, which will be available later in December.

On each Open Series Match Day, squads will retrieve that day’s tournament code from the Repeat app, enter it in-game, then join using the provided match code. Scoring combines each squad’s best 10 Battle Royale and best 10 Gauntlet results across the three Match Days. The top 250 Open Series squads per region will advance to the Season Finals on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The top eight finishers from that Season Finals will earn spots in the next Elite Series season.

Open Series matches will also be protected by Javelin anti-cheat, and winners will be validated for fair play. A total of $30,000 USD in prizes—$10,000 USD per region—will be awarded to the top squads at the Open Series Season Finals.

Building the Future of Competitive Battlefield

Battlefield competitive image

We recognize the grassroots competitive scene that already exists in the Battlefield community—from tight 4v4 and 8v8 matches to sprawling 32v32 events across Conquest and Rush. Players told us they need better tools—spectator modes, custom lobbies, and other features—to innovate competitively, and we’re committed to working with the community to test formats and systems that best suit Battlefield 6 Multiplayer.

Battlefield Labs will continue to be a central channel for player feedback, which guides meaningful change for the game and its competitive ecosystem. The Elite and Open Series are the first practical steps in testing and refining what competitive Battlefield can become. We look forward to collaborating with players, collecting feedback, and iterating together to build a healthy competitive environment for every skill level.

Looking ahead to 2026, we plan for both the Elite and Open Series to return in future seasons. Because these formats are new in competitive FPS space, we’ll closely monitor player and community feedback to ensure each season is both enjoyable to play and entertaining to watch.

If you’re ready to compete but new to Battlefield or REDSEC, start with our mode primers for Battle Royale and Gauntlet, then download Battlefield REDSEC for free and jump in.

We can’t wait to watch you compete—see you at the first Elite Series matches on December 10, and at the Open Series kickoff on December 12.
