Battlefield 6 – Anticheat Metrics – July
Greetings Soldier,
July marked the conclusion of Season 3 and the inaugural ranked season, while simultaneously kicking off Season 4. This update initiates our monthly reporting using the refined Match Infection Rate (MIR) framework, optimized for enhanced precision as outlined in our recent Season 4 Anti-Cheat Briefing.
For context, June concluded with an initial MIR metric of 6.59% under our legacy formula, which subsequently stabilized at 4.62% following our algorithmic adjustments designed to properly account for false-positive reports targeting elite players and vehicle specialists.
In case you missed the memo, our security and analytics divisions recently identified an anomalous, steady rise in MIR that failed to correlate with any actual shifts in illicit software distribution or cheating communities. Deeper forensic analysis uncovered the root cause: an influx of erroneous reports directed at legitimate, highly skilled veterans—particularly those dominating vehicular combat.
To correct this imbalance, we recalibrated the MIR algorithm to more accurately filter out false flags. While we safeguard our exact proprietary methodology to prevent exploitation, the core concept is simple: if an account faces persistent reporting over time yet consistently clears manual reviews and triggers no secondary anti-cheat flags, the system now correctly identifies them as a seasoned Battlefield expert.
For a comprehensive breakdown, please review the aforementioned Season 4 update. Additionally, you can consult our January transparency report for a deeper dive into how and why these metric fluctuations occur.
As a reminder, our mandatory enforcement of TPM 2.0 officially went live on August 31st. If you need assistance, please refer to the official TPM 2.0 Troubleshooting Guide. Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping the Battlefield secure and competitive.
July Performance & Impact
Match Infection Rate (MIR): The percentage of matches across the ecosystem compromised by at least one cheater. This metric accounts for all reported suspects, including those currently under observation awaiting conclusive enforcement evidence.
July began with a stable MIR baseline of 4.62%. Figures experienced a steady upward trajectory, peaking at 5.74% between July 13th and July 15th, before declining to 4.86% by the 20th. The metric experienced minor fluctuations through the remainder of the month, ultimately settling at 4.76% at the time of this publication.
Throughout July, the EA Javelin Anti-Cheat system successfully intercepted and neutralized 277,649 tampering or exploitation attempts before they could disrupt a live match. We are currently tracking 104 active cheat variants (-8), encompassing software exploits, hardware spoofers, developers, and distributors. Of those monitored, 100 programs (-7) are experiencing systemic feature failures, widespread downtime, explicit detection warnings, or have ceased operations entirely, representing a 96.15% disruption rate.
Keep the fight fair—see you on the Battlefield.
