To reach the true ending in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, you must look beyond the immediate fate of the Kingdom of Huther and reconcile the past with the future. While the standard conclusion follows Elliot’s journey through four distinct eras, those who seek the definitive finale will unlock several additional hours of narrative, including exclusive boss encounters.
If you’re ready to guide Elliot toward a brighter resolution, here is how to unlock the true ending in The Adventures of Elliot.

The journey to the true ending begins when you receive the main quest to “Head to the sorcerer’s location.” You will see a purple icon marking the Northern Tower on your map. Do not head there yet. Before engaging the tower’s boss, you must complete the following checklist:
- Finish the quest lines for the Age of Budding, Age of Magic, and Age of Reconstruction.
- Locate the three legendary sages.
- Obtain the Leytstaf sword.
- Gather the necessary knowledge to save Māo.
- Confront the Beast of Enmity at the Northern Tower.
- Collect the required number of cats.
While some objectives can be tackled in any order, you must start the Age of Budding quest line and progress until Lyudmila requests a private conversation before you begin hunting for the sages. Below is a streamlined roadmap to help you navigate these steps without unnecessary story spoilers.
Initiating Age Quest Lines
Your journey starts by visiting the Age of Budding, the Age of Magic, and the Age of Reconstruction to trigger their respective story threads. Begin with Hitoyori in the Age of Budding, then proceed to Littlehope (Age of Reconstruction) and Weyzn (Age of Magic).
While red map markers will guide you through most of these objectives, there are two specific instances where the game does not provide explicit direction. When this happens, visit Māo’s cabin in the Age of Magic and Lyudmila’s cabin in the Age of Budding to force the story forward.
The final hurdle for this phase occurs in the Age of Budding during the fire sequence. To save the trapped character, simply push the vase to clear your path through the flames.

Acquiring the Leytstaf Sword
The Leytstaf sword is an essential gear upgrade, serving as the third-tier weapon for Elliot. You can find it on the second sublevel of the Water Ruins (north of the Western Fields of Flon), but only once you have unlocked the path to the Northern Tower. Acquiring this early is highly recommended, as a sage will eventually request it, saving you a backtracking trip later.
Finding the Myū Sages
You must find the three Myū sages: Thiew (White), Boyne (Ebony), and Wynat (Tawny). This can only be triggered after obtaining the Lustrous Bell from Lyudmila in the Age of Budding and speaking with the Ailurophilic Traveler across all three ages.
Do not search for these locations prematurely; the sages will not appear until the aforementioned prerequisites are met. Once the Ailurophilic Traveler provides information on the cats and marks your map, you can begin your search. Note that you must secure the Age of Reconstruction and Age of Budding sages before the Age of Magic sage becomes accessible.
- Boyne (Ebony): Mount Phoenix (Age of Reconstruction)
- Wynat (Tawny): Grandtree (Age of Budding)
- Thiew (White): Geared Ruins (Age of Magic)
The Path to Saving Māo
After completing the primary quest lines, a new mission will appear regarding the salvation of Māo. To uncover the method for defeating the Beast of Enmity peacefully, travel to the Age of Safekeeping and enter Heuria’s room. Locate her pendant on the northern side of the room to trigger a critical story cutscene and obtain the item.
The Northern Tower Confrontation
Entering the Northern Tower is a point of no return. Remember these two critical rules to ensure you are on the path to the true ending:
- You must have the Amber Pendant equipped before entering.
- Do not attack the boss.
The encounter relies on your mastery of the Moon Shield. Focus solely on landing precision guards—block the moment the boss glows red. Avoid his standard attacks, and after successfully deflecting his strikes, the battle will conclude, moving you into the final sequence.
Final Preparations
Once Māo is safe, the three sages will task you with finding more Myū disguised as ordinary cats. You need a total of 15 cats to proceed. If you have been diligent about returning cats to the Kingdom of Huther throughout your playthrough, this step will likely complete automatically. Once this requirement is met, you are locked into the path for the true ending of The Adventures of Elliot.
