<p>“When I experienced <em>Episode IV</em> for the first time, despite taking place in a completely alien corner of space, it evoked a surprising wave of nostalgia,” Kamiyama explains. “It felt remarkably close to my own upbringing. The dusk lighting, the ambient glow, the environmental atmosphere—it mirrored the warmth of the world I grew up in. I wanted to replicate that exact sensation.”</p>

<p>“I wanted to approach lightsabers as authentic Japanese katana, much like George Lucas originally envisioned,” Tada tells Polygon. “Naturally, I wanted the sequences to deliver immense visual catharsis and excitement, but I simultaneously insisted that, much like a real blade, a single touch carries fatal consequences.”</p>
<p>Drawing from his own extensive background as an accomplished kendo practitioner, Tada fundamentally redefined the movement choreography. He rejected empty stylistic flourishes in favor of purposeful, intent-driven combat.</p>
<p>“Because of my training in kendo, I can immediately spot when characters are simply colliding plastic props together rather than executing a lethal strike,” Tada notes. The ultimate objective was never mere visual flair, but rather restoring the palpable threat intrinsic to wielding a sword.</p>
