Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore recently enjoyed a musical escape at a Bruce Springsteen concert, documenting their double “date night” on Instagram this past Thursday (April 9). The outing comes months after their long-standing friendship faced public scrutiny during the controversy surrounding an alleged “toxic” mom group.

The This Is Us star shared a candid clip via Instagram Stories showing herself and Duff, accompanied by their respective husbands, Taylor Goldsmith and Matthew Koma, singing along to the classic anthem “Born to Run.” The footage captures a joyful moment between the friends, with Duff beaming as she leans against Koma in the stands.

“Mentally, I’m still here,” Moore wrote, a sentiment echoed by Duff in her own repost. “@springsteen date night!!!”

Springsteen, currently headlining his Land of Hope & Dreams tour, played a two-night residency at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The tour has already garnered significant attention for the singer’s outspoken commentary on the political landscape, including recent criticisms of Donald Trump and ICE, which triggered a sharp retort from the former president on social media.

The friendship between Moore and Duff found itself under a microscope this past January following an essay by Ashley Tisdale titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group.” Observers quickly inferred that the group mentioned included both Moore and the How I Met Your Father star. During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in February, Duff addressed the speculation directly, noting that it didn’t take much for the public to connect the dots.

“It’s disheartening to encounter false narratives,” Duff shared during the interview. “It feels particularly unfair to the other women involved. The timing was unfortunate, and I felt used.”

The situation is further complicated by Tisdale’s close relationship with Duff’s estranged sister, Haylie. Earlier this year, Hilary opened up on CBS Mornings about the isolation she feels regarding her relationship with her sister, confirming that the track “We Don’t Talk” from her recent album Luck … or Something reflects the personal strain between the two.
