The developers of the hit cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 recently unveiled a fresh batch of community statistics, revealing that “accidental” friendly fire remains a rampant phenomenon on the front lines.
Arrowhead Game Studios has officially logged a staggering 177 million incidents where soldiers turned their weapons on their own comrades.
While the defenders of Super Earth have successfully eradicated over 279 billion enemies of democracy—including 121 billion Terminid “bugs”—the cost of liberty has been steep. Approximately 8.6 billion brave fighters have perished throughout these planetary operations.
To mark these milestones, Arrowhead Game Studios is offering a gift to the community. Players can now customize their Helldiver’s appearance with a new commemorative cape:
