New Game From Psychonauts Creators Has 94% Positive Reviews but Only 99 Players
Thank You Bus Driver, the first game from Double Fine Productions since the studio left Microsoft, has earned positive reviews on Steam but a low peak player count.
The game holds 94% positive reviews on Steam. Its peak concurrent player count was only 99, and Gamalytic estimates sales at just 2,900 copies. At the time the original report was published, four people were playing.
Thank You Bus Driver is the first project from Double Fine Productions Action Lab, an initiative in which the studio plans to release small games with short development cycles. The goal is to keep the studio afloat until it finds an investor for a larger AA or AAA project.

The game, which launched a few days ago, has players beat up the passengers on a bus. Despite the good reviews, audience interest has been weak. According to the report, sales at this level are not enough to support a large studio.
Thank You Bus Driver is available on several PC storefronts: Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, Humble and Game Jolt. It is not on the Microsoft Store.
