Hades 2 to Receive First Major Update — Developers to Fix Ending Players Disliked

A preview build of the first major post-release patch for Hades 2 has appeared on Steam. The update centers on the ending, which has been a point of contention within the community.

It’s been a month since Supergiant Games released their first-ever sequel, and the studio has rolled out a substantial update (following a minor hotfix earlier this month). The patch is currently offered only as a “preview”, but the full changelog is already available.

Patch 1 delivers the usual suite of improvements — rebalancing of boons and bonuses, fixes to interactions between various upgrades, level and visual polish, and the correction of numerous major and minor bugs.

The headline change is a revision of the ending. The developers haven’t replaced it entirely, but they’ve added new events and scenes that build toward a “true” finale. This aims to make the conclusion richer and more cohesive. Players will now need to traverse the Underworld more times than before to reach the ending.

The complete changelog is posted on the Hades 2 Steam page at this link. The developers noted the patch is still in testing and an official release date has not been announced.
