The progress is significant: not only have numerous problems and bugs been overcome, but “Vice City” on the old console is fully playable. It doesn’t particularly lose to, for example, a more powerful Xbox.

Obviously, the developers will continue to improve their product by adding original features and bug fixes to both parts. Those who want to dive deeper into the process can be recommended to subscribe to Falco Girgis, a team member who often details various technical nuances of the work done.

His colleague, Stefanos Kornilios Mitsis Poiitidis, who started this project, confirmed to us that they won’t be able to tackle GTA: San Andreas, as the entire project is built on others — re3 and reVC. Let’s recall that their authors once ceased reverse-engineering classic GTA due to a court case with Take-Two. Therefore, if you were hoping to see “San Andreas” on Sega Dreamcast next, unfortunately, it won’t happen.
