Determining the ultimate financial impact of GTA 6 remains a guessing game for now. While we anticipate receiving more concrete insights this August, we must currently rely on speculative data from industry insiders.

Just a month ago, analysts at StockTwits projected that Grand Theft Auto VI would reach 45 million units sold at launch—a staggering quadruple increase compared to the 11 million units moved by GTA 5 during its debut.

Those initial forecasts arrived prior to the official launch of pre-order availability. Since then, a fresh analysis from Newzoo suggests that pre-orders for GTA VI raked in approximately $180 million during their inaugural week across the United States and five major European markets—specifically the UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. When factoring in global demand, the numbers climb to an astounding $260 million. According to the report, this sets a new benchmark, marking the most successful pre-order phase in gaming history.

Market experts further estimate that GTA 6 is poised to generate between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion in revenue within its first week on the shelves. This financial trajectory suggests a volume of 37 to 59 million copies sold. Should these forecasts hold true, the title will instantaneously cement its place among the top 10 best-selling video games of all time.
