GTA VI is ready but in terrible technical shape — insider

The recent postponement of Grand Theft Auto VI stunned the industry, and fans are now searching for the reasons behind Rockstar’s choice.

Originally slated for 2025, the release date was first moved to May 26, 2026, and later shifted again to November 19 of the same year. After the announcement, rumors circulated that 34 employees were dismissed following an attempt to unionize, a development said to have slowed progress. So why was the launch pushed back by nearly a year from the initial schedule?

According to insider Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, GTA VI is reportedly content-complete but suffers from severe technical instability. The development team is still grappling with major bugs that prevent a safe launch. Henderson emphasized that Rockstar aims for impeccable quality and is unwilling to release the title until those issues are fully resolved.

The insider stressed that technical failures are the primary reason for the extensive delay, even though the game’s content is finished. At the 54-minute mark of his video he provides an in-depth update on the current state of affairs at Rockstar.
