The upcoming Grand Theft Auto is expected to deliver a vast amount of content.
Pre-orders for GTA 6 have not opened yet, and rumors about pricing are already circulating. Some even speculate the cost could reach $100.
There are those who feel such a price for GTA 6 would be justified. Recently, voice actor Jay Kleitz, who portrayed Lester in GTA 5, shared his perspective in an interview with The Escapist.
He believes the next entry in the franchise will contain an enormous amount of content, so a higher price could be warranted. At the same time, he thinks Rockstar might find a middle ground and offer a more accessible price so fans around the world can buy GTA 6.
GTA 5 involved a tremendous amount of motion capture. I expect GTA 6 will be the same — these games take an incredible amount of time to make. Years and years. They didn’t just kick back; they finished GTA 5 and almost immediately began work on GTA 6.
A project like this takes forever, and as we saw with GTA 5, the base release is just the beginning — other editions, downloadable content, and an online component follow. When you buy one game, you’re effectively buying several.
I’d also like the game to be more affordable for a larger number of fans, so I understand the importance of accessibility. That’s a worthy goal. Maybe there’s a way to reconcile both priorities, but I agree that a project of this scale justifies its price tag.
