Gretta Ray, the acclaimed indie-pop vocalist and songwriter, is recouping from a significant health and wellness problem which called for a browse through to the emergency room and a prolonged remain in medical facility.
The Australian musician touched down in London previously in the summer season, an initiation rite for a lot of of her compatriots and an individual goal for Ray to better her occupation.
After going silent on social media sites, Ray connected to inform her fans on current occasions. “Hi darlings,” she creates, “I wanted to share with you that shortly after moving overseas to London last month, I was admitted to the ER and have remained in hospital for 5 weeks now.”
She proceeds, “it’s been a scary time, but after a lot of uncertainty, I have a plan moving forward and will soon be on the other side of all of this.” The message is accompanied with a photo drawn from her medical facility bed, an intravenous drip impending over.
The roadway in advance is a lengthy one. “I have a long recovery period ahead of me and for now I’m going to keep the details of my illness private,” Ray includes, “but I felt compelled to make this post to remind all of you that if you are ever feeling unsettlingly sick, in unexpected sudden pain, or you just know that something is wrong, make sure you listen to that gut feeling and get seen to as soon as you can.”
Ray’s family members are currently in London “taking care of me,” she creates in a followup message. “I am in good hands here in a really good hospital.”
Hailing from Melbourne, Ray’s occupation developed while she was still at college. In 2016, a teen Ray won Triple J Unearthed and she scooped the 2016 Vanda & &Young Global Songwriting Competition, which featured a A$ 50,000 victor’s check.
Her launching cd, Begin to Look Around, decreased in 2021 and was chosen an ARIA Music Award (development musician launch) and a J Award, for Australian cd of the year.
In 2023 came the student cd Positive Spin, which was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize, the J Award and her solitary “Heartbreak Baby” was chosen for tune of the year at the 2024 APRA Music Awards.
