Gosha Kutsenko, the star of “Vstat na nogi” (“Getting Back on My Feet”), is set to headline the new TNT and Okko series “The Governor” (“Gubernator”). Production for the project is already underway across Moscow and the surrounding region.

In this comedic venture, Kutsenko will tackle two distinct characters: the corrupt politician Ilya Arkhipov and a regular electrician named Vadik. When Arkhipov devises a plan to sneak away for a secret vacation, he enlists Vadik to temporarily fill his shoes. However, en route to the airport, Arkhipov is involved in an accident and ends up under the care of Olya (Olga Medynich), whose home he previously sought to demolish. Meanwhile, Vadik begins to adapt to the responsibilities of being governor, finds himself falling for Arkhipov’s wife, Lera (Natalya Bardo), and unexpectedly evolves into a beloved public figure.

Directing “The Governor” is Alexey Zotov (“The Chosen”). The supporting cast includes Anna Glaube, Nikita Tarasov, and Pavel Vorozhtsov. A premiere date for the series will be announced at a later time.

“Vstat na nogi” premiered on Okko this past February, earning praise from both critics and audiences alike. As of now, it remains unclear whether the series will be renewed for a second season.
