God of War Revealed After 7 Years — Players Discover What the World Serpent Said

Fans have deciphered the meaning of the “enigmatic roar”.

Recently, God of War (2018) revealed a new side to some players. During their journey, Kratos and Atreus encounter the World Serpent (Jörmungandr).

The creature emits a roar — and players now believe they know what it means. A script surfaced online that provides an explanation for the puzzling “Keh-naw–nooooo. Gooooo-thooooo seh-nooo” and more.

As it turns out, Jörmungandr told the heroes:

Do not trouble me again, little god, until you have a tongue with which to speak to me.

When the heroes return with Mimir (or, more precisely, his head), the serpent says to them, “You again. Have you come to offer an axe in sacrifice?” and adds to Mimir: “There used to be more of you.”

While they discuss the fate of Atreus’s mother, the serpent says:

I understand this pain. First they must retrieve silver from the tip of the sacred chisel. And they must study the Black Rune… hidden in Tyr’s Temple.
