Ghost of Yotei gets free Legends mode today; PlayStation reveals details
Starting March 10, Ghost of Yotei players can access the complimentary Legends expansion. The development team has officially detailed what to expect from this new cooperative experience.
Legends transports players to a mythical and supernatural reimagining of the Yotei region. The narrative is centered around the folklore of six legendary campaign warriors, whose exploits have morphed into dark, fantastical fables over time. In this mode, players will confront not only human adversaries but also massive demonic entities and elite squads possessing formidable supernatural powers.
The multiplayer component features four distinct classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Each path offers a dedicated skill tree, unique ultimate abilities, and specialized gear. A robust progression system allows players to fine-tune their builds and equipment, tailoring their character to complement their team’s tactical needs.
The experience includes four difficulty tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Higher difficulty levels offer increased experience and superior rewards, though players are encouraged to advance at their own speed. Mission variety includes two-player narrative-driven “Story Missions,” four-player “Incursions,” and a “Survival” mode where teams defend key positions while managing strategic buffs and curses.
Next month will see the debut of a challenging Raid featuring two formidable new bosses, the Dragon and Lord Saito. Sucker Punch has also introduced a suite of new cosmetic rewards, and the multiplayer lobby has been transformed into an interactive social hub where players can train, test their builds, and participate in mini-games.
