This track serves as an enticing prelude to Petal, Grande’s upcoming eighth studio album scheduled for release on July 31. It marks a significant return to her musical roots following the success of 2024’s chart-topping Eternal Sunshine. The new record will be issued through her own BabyDoll Music imprint, under a licensing deal with Republic Records.

“I hate that I made you love me/ Sorry if I made me your type/ Yeah, I, I hate that I made you love me/ ‘Cause I barely tried,” Grande croons on the track’s vulnerable, standout chorus.

With the song now available to stream, fans are eagerly awaiting the official music video, which arrives this Monday. This release perfectly coincides with the kick-off of the Eternal Sunshine Tour, set to begin on June 8 in Oakland, California. For the latest on her tour schedule, you can find tickets and information here.

While Grande took the lead, the competition remained fierce: Latto’s Big Mama secured 26% of the vote, while aespa’s LEMONADE – The 2nd Album followed with 14%.
