Fans Pick LISA’s “Press Play” as This Week’s Favorite New Music in Poll

LISA of BLACKPINK has topped this week’s new music poll with her solo EP Press Play.
In a poll published Friday (Oct. 23) on Billboard, readers chose the six-song EP as their favorite new music. It finished with 87% of the vote, ahead of new releases from Hilary Duff, John Mayer, ATEEZ, Miley Cyrus and others.
Press Play came out Friday (Oct. 23) with a music video for the track “Tarantino.” The pre-release single “SaWaDiKa” arrived last month. LISA has a songwriting credit on all six tracks.
The EP’s title comes from a line in “Tarantino,” where she sings “come and press play.” On the chorus, she describes nails as long as a gun barrel, lipstick smeared on someone’s face and driving toward the sun with her feet hanging out of a Camino.
The Thai artist has a short Las Vegas residency coming up, with shows on Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 27-29.
Behind Press Play in the Billboard poll were Hilary Duff’s Holiday Things, John Mayer’s “Tom and Jerry,” ATEEZ’s “Drop” and Miley Cyrus’ “Cold Blooded.”
