Fan-Made Community Patch 2.0 Released for Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Fans continue to support the franchise’s beloved games.

In November, the community celebrated N7 Day, and modders joined the festivities by releasing LE1 Community Patch 2.0 for Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

This release concentrates on improving compatibility with other modifications:

The LE1 framework is now available and included in the LE1 Community Patch. It will substantially reduce compatibility problems between mods that change NPC appearances and other level modifications. The framework functions similarly to the LE3 Community Patch and LE2 Prologue frameworks.

Thanks to the LE1 Sideloader Framework, other modders can “load additional level files into existing parts of the game with minimal compatibility issues, without needing to alter master-level files.”

Other notable changes and enhancements include:

  • Citadel — The docking sequence at the Citadel during the Normandy’s first visit will be rendered in-engine rather than presented as a pre-rendered cutscene.
  • Normandy — Animation glitches have been fixed, and the bug that caused Pressly to teleport during the conversation before Ilos has been resolved.
  • Kaiden — Head and hair meshes have been improved to reduce gaps between his hair and helmets.
  • Virmire — The distinctive appearance of Private Menos Avot has been restored (optional).
