Fan-Made Browser Version of GTA 5 Shut Down After Brief Release
Grand Theft Auto V has been made playable in Google Chrome, allowing users to experience the story mode without access to GTA Online and load an early version of the GTA 6 map into it.
The project was made possible by utilizing a nearly 200 GB file leak and artificial intelligence to reduce the build size to 700 MB.

This browser-based version supported all input methods, including a mouse and keyboard, a gamepad, and a touchscreen for mobile browsers.
The website playgta5.com stopped working a few hours after launch, pointing to likely intervention from Take-Two.
You can still play it, though — a copy was preserved in the web archive.
