Extended Look at GTA 6 Faces Censorship in China

Unlike other platforms, the Chinese video-hosting site Bilibili uploaded an alternative version of GTA 6 gameplay trailer — with censorship. Scenes featuring semi-nude female bodies, smoking, and a corpse were blurred. All girls in bikinis and swimsuits can be seen blurred, along with almost entire shots from nightclub.

The censorship did not appear immediately. Rockstar Games initially published the original video, but on August 31, three days after premiere, it was replaced with the version that is currently available.

The previous two trailers, however, were not subjected to similar changes.

Interestingly, the video also has a different title. While it is titled An Extended Look in the English-speaking segment, the Chinese version is called A Glimpse of Substance.

It is reported that attempts to reupload the trailer to Bilibili without blur result in content being blocked and warnings about DMCA violations from Take-Two.
