The team at 1047 Games, best known for their work on Splitgate, has unveiled the debut cinematic trailer for their latest project: Empulse. This upcoming 6v6 first-person shooter wears its inspirations on its sleeve, channeling the high-octane spirit of Titanfall 2. While an official release date and platform list remain under wraps, eager players can already wishlist the title on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the game’s neo-futuristic setting, showcasing a blend of fluid movement mechanics—including wall-running, grapple hooks, and jump pads—alongside high-stakes mech combat. Fans won’t have to wait long for a deeper look; 1047 Games confirmed that raw gameplay footage will premiere on Sunday, June 7, during the PC Gaming Show.
Described by the developers as a “fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter,” Empulse takes place in the post-utopian urban sprawl of Freehold. The studio is doubling down on the arcade-style intensity that rewards mastery of movement and player expression.
“Our team is packed with Titanfall veterans,” the studio shared via social media. “We’ve heard the community’s desire for greater verticality and more creative freedom in combat. Empulse is our definitive answer to those requests.”
The core gameplay relies on a combination of momentum-based traversal—like “holojumps” that mimic the feel of snowboarding—and tactical environmental manipulation. Players can deploy P.A.I.N.T. bombs, which alter surface properties to provide speed boosts or create entirely new traversal routes.
The game’s true “power spike” occurs when mechs enter the fray. Unlike traditional hero-shooter ultimates, these mechs serve as a contested map objective. “Think of it as a walking, highly destructive rocket launcher with its own health pool and unique abilities,” the studio explained. “Teams must fight tooth and nail to seize control of them.”
Empulse is currently slated for an Early Access release later this year.
