Dragon Ball Super Beerus Arc Premieres on Crunchyroll

A new Dragon Ball anime is arriving soon as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premieres on Oct. 11 in Japan. International audiences will also be able to watch it quickly because Crunchyroll announced that it will stream new episodes of Beerus starting on Oct. 11.

According to a Monday press release, Crunchyroll will stream subtitled episodes of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Crunchyroll will have the episodes almost a week before Netflix begins streaming the premiere episode on Oct. 17.

Crunchyroll’s announcement only covers subtitled episodes and does not mention an English dub. It is possible that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will follow a rollout plan similar to the previous anime, Dragon Ball Daima. Subtitled episodes for that series began streaming in October 2024, while English-dubbed episodes premiered in January 2025. If Beerus follows the same schedule, English-dubbed episodes will likely arrive early next year.

Unlike Dragon Ball Daima, which featured a brand-new story, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will retread familiar ground. God of Destruction Beerus, the angel Whis, and Goku’s Super Saiyan God form first appeared in the 2013 movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. That story was subsequently adapted into both the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, meaning fans will experience this narrative for the fourth time.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will also cover Frieza’s return, which originally appeared in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ and was later adapted in the Super anime and manga. At the very least, the Beerus anime will tide fans over until the release of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. That project was announced earlier this year alongside Beerus, though it does not yet have a release window.
