Divinity: Original Sin 2 Shadow-Drops Today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2

Following the recent unveiling of a new Divinity project during last week’s Game Awards, Larian Studios has blindsided fans with a surprise shadow-drop. The acclaimed RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 is officially available starting today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Long before Larian Studios achieved global superstardom with the landmark success of Baldur’s Gate 3, they redefined the genre with the 2017 release of Divinity: Original Sin 2. The game invites players to assemble a party of heroes from five unique races to protect the world of Rivellon from an encroaching darkness. This deep, tactical experience can be enjoyed as a solo odyssey or via four-player cooperative play.

The version arriving on modern consoles is the Definitive Edition, which originally debuted in 2018. This edition features a polished narrative and various gameplay enhancements. While the standalone price is set at $49.99, Larian is offering a free upgrade to players who already own the previous-generation versions on PlayStation, Xbox, or the original Switch.
