Diablo 4 Gets Update 2.4.1 — Blizzard Changes Soul Spires After Complaints

Diablo 4 will soon receive a range of gameplay and technical changes.

The Diablo 4 team is preparing to roll out patch 2.4.1. As is Blizzard Entertainment’s custom, the full patch notes were published in advance. The update contains a variety of technical fixes, balance adjustments, and mechanic refinements.

Players had previously reported issues with the spires in the “Infernal Hordes” mode — those have been addressed as well.

Selected changes in patch 2.4.1:

  • When the Infernal Covenant “Lurking Hellborn” is active, Hellborn enemies will ambush players more frequently.
  • The effective radius of soul spires has been increased. Monsters will now more often ambush players who are inside a spire’s radius.

Developers note that “this change will make Infernal Hordes even more dynamic, while soul spires will remain a demanding challenge that offers worthwhile rewards.”

  • Fixed an issue where the wall of mist did not appear during the fight with Belial.
  • Fixed an issue where the description for Belial’s lair incorrectly indicated a high chance to obtain the Infernal Compass.
  • Fixed an issue where the mount trophy “Noxious Stone,” awarded for reaching Paragon level 300, did not appear in the player’s stables.
  • Various improvements to UI, stability, visuals, and performance have been implemented.
  • Fixed an issue where the Barbarian passive “Berserker’s Wrath” increased the damage of Tsagal’s Saber even if the skill had not been upgraded to Rank 5.
  • Fixed an issue where the Barbarian’s “Spiked Carapace” did not trigger from basic skills if Spiked Carapace had just recovered after the “Unstable Might” effect activated.
  • Fixed an issue where using the Stormbone Aspect together with “Balance Disruption” did not extend the duration of the Necromancer’s “Bone Storm.”
  • Fixed an issue where the Rogue’s “Dark Reflection” failed to deal overwhelming damage if base skills were used while the Chaos Gift “Unstable Might” was active.
  • Fixed an issue where the Explosive Toxins Aspect did not place “Poison Traps.”
  • Fixed an issue where the Rogue’s “Impulse” sometimes did not receive its additional effect.
  • Fixed an issue where the Misty Aspect stunned the player when skeletal warriors teleported to them.
  • Fixed an issue where progress on the quest “Blood on the Parchment” could become blocked if the player died during a boss fight.
  • Fixed an issue where the wall of mist did not appear during the fight with Belial.

Patch 2.4.1 for Diablo 4 is scheduled to release on October 7, 2025.
