Developers Aim to Release Path of Exile 2 Before 2027
The initial plan did not call for major changes to the endgame.
Grinding Gear Games is currently developing Path of Exile 2 in an early access format, so a 2025 release is not on the table.
The studio now expects a full launch of PoE 2 in 2026. In a conversation with PC Gamer, Mark Roberts said he would be “very, very surprised” if the game wasn’t fully released in 2026.
The Path of Exile 2 team did not foresee development stretching this long. One reason for the delay was the decision to rework the endgame — something that wasn’t part of the original plan:
…We certainly didn’t expect the game to remain in early access for this long. So right now we’re basically thinking, “Okay — we need to get this done, make progress, and ship the game.”
