A Fresh Start: Reintroducing Developer Corners
Greetings, Generals! As we embark on a new year, our team is hard at work mapping out the future of Hearts of Iron IV. To better involve the community in our creative process, we are officially reviving Developer Corners.
To provide clarity on how we communicate our progress, it is important to distinguish between our two primary update formats:
Developer Diaries
- Provide comprehensive deep dives into content that is nearing completion and undergoing final refinement.
- Are typically published in the weeks leading up to a major release.
- Serve as a forum for detailed Q&A sessions and a final check for any critical oversights.
- Allow us to address immediate concerns via Day-1 patches or future “War Effort” updates.
Developer Corners
- Focus on gathering targeted feedback regarding specific design concepts.
- Are intended to be brief, concise, and focused on a single topic.
- May highlight experimental ideas that are not yet guaranteed for final implementation.
- Are released dynamically whenever a developer seeks community perspective, rather than following a rigid schedule.
Community Spotlight: Siam
Our focus today turns toward Siam. With the upcoming Thunder at our Gates expansion (part of Expansion Pass 2) scheduled for a Q2 release, we want to tap into your expectations.
When you imagine a campaign as Siam, what is your ideal “player fantasy”? Beyond the strategic position, are there specific historical figures, unique military hardware, or cultural nuances you feel are essential to bring this nation to life? We are eager to hear your thoughts as we continue development.
