DC Comics announced a new Justice League series at New York Comic-Con on Friday. Absolute Justice starts in April 2027 and unites Absolute Universe heroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern (Jo Mullein), and Flash (Wally West) for a five-issue miniseries.

Martian Manhunter brings the team together in Absolute Justice, according to reporters in the room. Some Absolute characters have already met, but this marks the first time the entire group gathers in the Absolute Universe. Absolute Justice will not interrupt any ongoing series.

A trailer for the miniseries warns that Darkseid and the other true rulers of this world have one message for its heroes: “Abandon all hope.” Jason Aaron, who writes Absolute Superman, handles the script for the five-issue event, while Juan Ferreyra draws the series.

Absolutely stoked for more Absolute Universe comics

Absolute Justice was not the only notable announcement from the panel. Cliff Chiang fills in for Absolute Batman artist Nick Dragotta on the Barbara Gordon-starring issue number 26 in January. DC also announced a new Absolute Black Canary one-shot for later in the year. The character debuted in the pages of Absolute Green Arrow, which started as a six-issue miniseries before expanding to 12 issues.

The Absolute Universe line has driven strong results for DC Comics. Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman both received Best New Series nominations at the 2025 Eisner Awards, with Absolute Wonder Woman winning the category. These books strip DC heroes down to their core elements, removing traditional trappings such as Batman having a butler, a mansion, or vast riches. Batman will also transition to animation, as an Absolute Batman animated series was announced in June.
