Dataminers: Sony is manipulating PlayStation Store prices — the same game can cost different amounts for different players

Some users have already noticed Sony’s store experimenting with dynamic pricing.

Recently, players began reporting that the PlayStation Store can show different prices for the same game to users in the same region. The psprices community has confirmed that Sony is testing dynamic pricing.

According to observations from data miners, price discrepancies in the PS Store range between about 5% and 17.6%.

Here are a few examples of dynamic pricing:

So far, the experiment appears to include more than 50 titles and spans over 30 regions, primarily across Europe. Prices can vary for both already released games and pre-orders.
